While striving for perfection can be a powerful motivation, consider letting go of it. Sometimes, when you allow yourself not to be bound by any rules, you get to explore your limits and your imagination can roam around freely and influence your project. Allow yourself to have fun! Art is the ultimate expression of yourself. Silence your inner critic and just let the creative juices flow.
Give yourself a break
Especially when you encounter that very familiar creative block, step away from your art project and give yourself time to just give your mind and your heart a break. Consider overcoming artist's block by treating yourself out in the park, read a good book or go out for a run - anything that you can do that will take your mind off that thing you are so hard-pressed to finish.
